Our Funding

The organization receives funding from donations, performance sponsors, and grants from agencies/organizations who support the arts. We have been very fortunate to have gained so many solid supporters in the past. Even so, we continue to strive for better quality performances in larger venues at an even lower cost to the public. We welcome your assistance in funding our goals.

We are always looking for artistic grants and performance sponsors. If you know of any, please contact one of our board members with the information. If you would like to make a tax-deductible donation yourself, the visit our donation page for details.

Our Leaders

As a non-profit organization we are reliant on volunteers to staff and run our rehearsals and events. Luckily, we have benefited from a large number of individuals over the years, that have kept the group running smoothly.

Maestro

Alan Crabb

Alan Crabb, Artistic Director and co-founder of the Binghamton Downtown Singers, has led the group since its inception in 1983.

A gifted singer himself, he is well known in both local and national music circles. As a conductor, he is known for his ability to inspire the musicians under his baton to the highest levels of musical excellence, a fact repeatedly confirmed by the favorable responses of audiences and critics alike.

He has appeared with many of the major orchestras of North America, including those of Cleveland, Pittsburgh, Buffalo, St. Louis, Denver, Seattle, San Antonio, New Jersey, and Vancouver, Canada, as well as in San Juan, Puerto Rico. A graduate of the Crane School of Music in Potsdam, New York, he has been a vocal and choral teacher in this area for many years. He has taught voice at Carnegie Mellon University, Cornell University, and Broome Community College, and was a guest lecturer with the Cleveland Symphony Orchestra.
